The Russia Agricultural Bank is to finance the construction of a dairy farm complex in the Tambov region. The Suvorov farm will house 1940 dairy cows and has been backed by a loan from the agricultural bank of about 1 billion rubles.
Food security
Today the farm has 1,758 head of cattle with the first batch being imported from Australia and the second from Germany. By 2017 the farm will have a capacity of 2,300 head and according to Rosselkhozbank this will make the complex the largest supplier of raw materials for processing and the largest provider of high quality milk in the region. The agricultural bank said that the construction of livestock complex in Tambov region will bring new jobs to the community, improve food security in the region, and as a consequence, the whole country, as well as accelerate self-sufficiency.
